Barcelona city celebrates international Earth Day in its own way. They organise an annual two day fair and market called “La Fira per la Terra”. Barcelona Earth Fair was first held in 1996. It takes place on the weekend closest to 22 April, World Earth Day, in Parc de la Ciutadella and on the street Passeig Lluís Companys located by the park.

One of the most exceptional events Barcelona has to offer aims to encourage local production and direct exchange of goods and services that respects people and environment. It’s created as a meeting point of all those who want to draw attention to the aggression of modern society to the natural and social system, proposing the ways for more respectful, supportive and cooperative behaviour.

You can spend a wonderful, healthy weekend in Barcelona as this eco-fair and market offers a wide range of environmentally friendly goods, fresh, local, organic produce, as well as recycled products. All this can be purchased in many stalls set in the park and along the street.

Earth market doesn’t allow the participation of organisations or individuals (that is the stores and distributors) who resale products. It supports local farmers, craftsmen and suppliers.

Admission to this event is free. It includes many workshops and fun activities great for children and the whole family. Travel to Barcelona, meet this magnificent city and spend a part of your unforgettable Barcelona city breaks at this eco-friendly event.
